Effective 4 August 2026 App PadCoach (working title) Contact woolley.pj@gmail.com

PadCoach is made by one person, Philip Woolley. This policy explains what the app does with information. The short version is that it does almost nothing, because it does not need to.

The short version

What the app stores

PadCoach keeps a record of your practice so it can show you your progress: which lessons you have completed, your scores and star ratings, your day streak, badges you have earned, and your settings (handedness, appearance, metronome and backing volume, latency calibration, and any pad velocity calibration for a controller you have connected).

All of it is written to local storage on your device. It is not uploaded anywhere, and there is no PadCoach server for it to be uploaded to. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it.

Apple services the app uses

PadCoach uses two services provided by Apple. Both are optional in the sense that the app works without either one, and in both cases the information involved goes to Apple, not to me.

Apple's handling of that information is covered by Apple's privacy policy (opens in a new tab), not by this one.

MIDI controllers and Bluetooth

If you connect a MIDI pad controller, the app reads the notes you play and the name the device reports, so it can list the controller and remember its calibration. To pair a Bluetooth MIDI controller, PadCoach shows Apple's own pairing screen, which is why the app asks for Bluetooth access. None of this leaves your device.

The microphone

PadCoach does not use the microphone and does not ask for microphone access. It plays audio and reads MIDI, and that is all.

Children

PadCoach is a music practice app suitable for general audiences. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices

Because nothing leaves your device, there is nothing for me to delete on your behalf and no data export to request. Deleting the app removes your practice history. Your Game Center scores are managed in Game Center, and your purchase is managed by Apple through your Apple Account.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever starts doing something this policy does not describe, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the effective date at the top will change.
